More often than not this term is used to refer to the "invincimonk. The "Invincible Monk," "solo monk," "55 monk" is a monk who lowers his or her maximum hit points to 55 by equipping 5 superior monks runes. This build is used for farming and takes advantage of the spell Protective Spirit.

AB

Alliance Battles are 12 vs 12 PvP (Player vs. Player) battles that control the border between Kurzick and Luxon territory.


AoE

Area of Effect (AoE) spells affect multiple targets in a given area of the battlefield.

 

BiP

BiP is used to refer to the Necromancer Elite Spell Blood is Power. It's available in all chapters of Guild Wars.

 

Bonder

Term used to refer to a monk who specializes in protecting the party by placing either Life bond and/or Life Barrier on all or some members of the party.

 

Bot

A Bot (robot) is a program used to do repetitive tasks in a game, like farming. Bots are against the Guild Wars EULA and will result in a user account being banned if it's found that you are guilty of "botting". Bots are often used by online retailers who sell in game gold and items for real world money.

 

BR

Abbreviation used to refer to the Necromancer skill Blood Ritual. Blood Ritual is only available in the Prophecies campaign.

 

Buff

A buff can either refer to a positive effect being placed on a character or a game change for the positive. For example - an increase in damage to a skill while maintaining the same requirements to cast would be considered a buff.

 

Citadel

Granite Citadel is an outpost in the Southern Shiverpeaks of Tyria.

 

DoA

The Domain of Anguish (DoA) is an elite area that was added to Nightfall on the 1st of December 2006. It consists of one outpost, four explorable areas and an Elite Mission. It's without a doubt the most challenging area ever encountered in Guild Wars.

 

DP

Death Penalty (DP) reduces your maximum Health & Energy by the current percentage (%). The total cannot exceed -60% and will be "cleared" when you enter a town or outpost.

 

Droks

Droknars Forge is a Town in the Southern Shiverpeaks of Tyria. It's the first place that players are able to buy "Max" armor in Tyria. Quite often people will get a run from Beacons Perch down to Droknars Forge in order to buy "Max" armor.

 

Echo Nuker

An Elementalist specializing in Fire Magic who makes use of the Mesmer spells Echo and Arcane Echo.

 

Ecto

Globs of Ectoplasm (Ecto) are very rare crafting materials mainly used to craft Obsidian Armor. Ecto only drops from certain monsters in the Underworld, Ruins of the Tomb of Primeval Kings, Fissure of Woe and the Maguuma Jungle (Very rare). Ecto can be bought from a Rare Material Trader.

 

FF

Faction farming is a form of farming in which players repeatedly complete tasks to gather Faction. These tasks can vary between repeatable quests or Alliance Battles.

 

FoW

The Fissure of Woe (FoW) is the domain of Balthazar, one of the 5 Gods. It's an elite area that can available in all chapters of the game. FoW is a very popular place for chest running and is the main place to find Obsidian Shards. It's also the only place where Obsidian Armor can be crafted.

 

Grotto

Marhan's Grotto is a Town in the Southern Shiverpeaks of Tyria. It's one of only two places in Tyria where 15k (Ascended) Armor can be crafted.

 

IWAY

Can refer to either the Warrior skill "I will Avenge You!" or the IWAY Heroes Ascent Team Build.

 

Kite

Also refered to as "kiting" or "kitting", is the ability to run away with the aim of avoiding damage. Simply turning around and running is not considered kiting as you're not contributing to the battle.

 

LFG

LFG is an abbreviation for "Looking for Group". It's commonly used in Towns or Outposts by players looking for a party to mission or quest with. Players often mention their build information so as to make seeking a party easier.

Has the same meaning as LFP.

 

LFP

LFP is an abbreviation for "Looking for Party". It's commonly used in Towns or Outposts by players looking for a party to mission or quest with. Players often mention their build information so as to make seeking a party easier.
